4 days and 3 nights Chitwan Jungle Safari (CHIT4-N):

Chitwan National Park is situated 120 km southwest of Kathmandu. It is the first National Park of Nepal, established in 1973. It covers about 930 sq. km located in the subtropical lowland of inner Terai. Most of land is covered with dominantly hardwood sal forest, Gigantic Simal Trees and grassland.
It provides excellent habitat for wild animals like Rhinoceros, Tiber, Leopard, Wild boars, Sloth bears, Wild buffalo, Crocodiles, different species of deer, monkeys as well as many species of birds. The park is popular for one-horned rhinoceros. Inside the park, more than 50 species mammal, 450 species birds and 50 amphibians and reptiles. Beside these, we find Tiger, Gharial Crocodile, Gaur, Wild Elephant, Four-horned Antelope, Striped Hyena, Pangolin, Monitor Lizard, Sambar deer, Chital (Spotted deer), Barking deer, Sloth bear, Palm Civet and Langur as well as birds like Bengal Florican, Lesser Florican, Giant hornbill, Black stork, White stork, Peafowl, Red jungle fowl, Herons, Kingfisher, Flycatchers and woodpeckers etc.
There is majority of Tharu people in this region. They are considered Mongoloid. They speak their own language. They have practice in Buddhism and Animism. Their main occupation is farming, most of Tharu settlement is on the bank of river.
Tharus are rich in cultural. They have their own special costumes, dresses, ornaments etc. They worship various gods and goddesses, they have their own priest. According to the month and season, they perform different kinds of folk songs and folk dances. Among them Barkha Dance, Sakhya, Stick dance are the major folk dances of Tharus.
 Tentative Program
 
Day : 01
00: Departure from Kathmandu to Sauraha by tourist bus, 5hrs. Some one will wait at the bus stop and drive by private vehicle.
00: Offer welcome drinks, at the same time guide will explain about the program.
00: Lunch.
00: Elephant Safari to discover different species of animals in the park, one-horned rhino, monkey, different species of deer, birds etc.
00: Dinner.

Day : 02
00: Tea or coffee
00: Departure for watching birds with a professional guide, who explains about flora and fauna.
00: Breakfast
00: Boating on Rapti River to discover Crocodiles and water birds.
00: Lunch.
00: Jungle walks with natural guide.
00: Cultural Tharu dance.

Day : 03
00: Breakfast.
00: Elephant breeding center.
00: According to the season, Jeep drive to visit Twenty Thousand Lake
or
Jungle safari in the dense forest of national park to discover different species of birds, insects and animals.
00: Tharu village tour.
00: Dinner.

Day: 04
00: Breakfast.
00: visit Tharu museum.
00: Departure to Chitrasari village by private vehicle to return Kathmandu or Pokhara.
